My Story
I received my Bachelor's of Science in Human Development & Family Studies in December of 2023. I own a small business providing consultations, web design & development, social media marketing and other services to help entrepreneurs succeed. As of 2025, I have spent the last two years learning how to code in HTML/JS/CSS, Python, SQL, and have started learning Golang this year.
I have many hobbies including various types of art and crafting mediums & a professional scuba diver. I can learn how to do anything except knit.
In 2022 I began my journey into professional scuba diving and became a Dive Master. I am always asked "where do you dive in Colorado?" and it makes me laugh every time. I dive in local lakes near me as I haven't had the financial freedom to go on a dive trip. Being a Dive Master has had many educational challenges that have been very rewarding to overcome. There is an aspect of sexism I face on occasion, but that's common place for me.
My Values
Creativity
Creativity is one of the main foundations of who I am as a person, but it is also what makes us human. Being creative applies to more than just artistic expression. To me, being creative can be used in a variety of life skills and challenges. Creativity is how the world has come to change so vastly in such a short amount of time. Inventors apply creativity by combining science, math, and whimsy to fill a need. Chefs use creativity to blend, mix, and challenge flavor profiles and astound their audience with a perfect meal. Creativity is not just being able to draw with more detail than a stick figure, it's the ability to think outside of the box, solve problems in new ways, develop more streamlined processes. Without creativity, as the human race, we would be no different than any other animal. The fact that we as humans can imagine more is what makes us achieve so much as a society. I believe creativity is vital to designing one's life to achieve their goals.
Integrity
Integrity is the second foundation of my personality. Integrity is a vague word than many people translate differently, or only apply to certain areas of their lives. In my opinion, integrity means to hold oneself accountable for all of one's actions, thoughts, behavior, and mindset. Integrity applies at work, at home, in social situations, on the internet, with your friends, family, pets, and strangers. Integrity means to hold myself accountable and maintain my own morals be honest, true, kind, compassionate, understanding, considerate, worthy of trust, and reliable. Any person can be judged upon other's expectations, but I judge myself on how I hold myself to following my own morals. For me, integrity is more than just one word, it's an implication of what I strive to achieve.
Community
Developing community is something I strive for on a daily basis. I honestly believe connection is the foundation of success. Everywhere I go, I do my best to establish a connection to the people I interact with. Whether that is at home, work, school, or any public space I'm inhabiting; I will establish a friendship. Friendship is vital for networking, and networking is the basis of success. My father always said "It's not what you know, but who you know." While I agree to some extent, I think success is achieved through both. Your knowledge makes your worth increase, but the connections made will get you further than you would alone. Support systems are built from strong bonds and, as an Art Therapist, I hope to befriend the children I see to be a part of their support system. One person can make a huge impact on a child, it's up to us adults to decide what kind of impact that will be. By being their friend and offering a safe space, I hope to impact them in a way to spark change.
Meaningful Work
I have over 10 years of working experience in a wide variety of fields. Started in childcare, then food service, then repair services, to receptionist, to water sports instructing. Out of all the jobs I have held, I learned that I'm happiest when I feel like I am making a difference. While the cost of living has increased exponentially; I've found that no matter the pay, I cannot work a job that does not give me some sort of meaning. Teaching swim lessons at minimum wage was amazing for me, but I couldn't afford to maintain it without a second job. Making specialty coffee drinks perfectly to a customer's precise desire, was satisfying. Fixing machinery for local shops made me feel like I saved the day for those employees & their customers. I don't mind how grueling a job can be knowing that I made someone else's day better, I'll always be content.
